The Last 100 Miles – Saying goodbye to an old friend

Today I waved goodbye to an old friend. After 11 years together my ZX6R has finally gone off to dance with another partner.  It’s hard to believe that I’d had that particular bike for so long. It was with me before my dog, before getting married, before my daughter. We sure had a lot of fun together. There have been so many good memories over the years.

Saying goodbye to my 1998 Kawasaki ZX6R Motorcycle

I rode her for the last 100 miles to meet up with her new owner. I thought I would feel a little more tugging at the heartstrings than I did. Though I have a tendency to become emotionally attached to the idea of things, I felt good letting the bike go to someone else who will enjoy and actually use it. I hope they have many happy times and safe miles together. So long, old friend.

I can say anything I want about Duc because he’ll never read anything here! 😀

Actually I’m sure he’ll love the bike and it’ll be in good hands 🙂
I also like how you’re doing the Queen Elizabeth wave at Devil’s Tower 🙂

One of the walls in my garage is filled with pics of some of my old bikes. Every once in a while I just stare at them and remember… It’s a sickness! Ha

The bike probably breathed a sigh of relief when John rode away. At least now it’ll be cleaned! ;oD

Partner, new owner, they….I have a name damnit! “I AM THE GREAT DUCHOLIO, I NEED S100 FOR MY NEEENJA!!!” =P

You didn’t give it to Lime9, you never have to fear a FUZZY pillion seat, though that would be both funny and fitting. 😀

I know she’s been your baby and she’ll get the same treatment as the Ducati. Likely that means all the dirt I washed away yesterday will be right back on it in 6 months time.

Sorry your last ride was on the SS and LIE vs. some mountain backroad with beautiful vistas prompting search parties. You know where she is if you have an itch to scratch. Thanks again for everything. =)

Fuzz, I pulled the pillion seat off last night after washing the bike. Would you like the dirty red scrunchie returned with the plate? I’m glad I didn’t find anything embarrassing in there. LOL

I have a small video I’ll be shooting over to you soon from last night. 12 o’clocks are cake with this bike!

  8. Fuzz! says:

For some reason, Duc – I have strange visions of you deeply sniffing that manky red scrunchie like Dennis Hopper sucking oxygen in Blue Velvet. ;oD

  9. Fuzz! says:

Fine, Fine, Duc – Do you want me to use your name or your Name?

  10. DUC748 says:

    No sniffing took place. =)

Call me SnootchieBootchie if you want. Or Lord They if you please. LOL
