Greetings from the American Southwest

This year, I had the opportunity to spend a couple of weeks bumming around the American Southwest. The idea of taking this trip was something that I’d been noodling on abstractly for a while. But for most of the idea’s life it seemed to live in the realm of daydreams. Could I do this? Should I do this? For those of you playing along at home, the answer to both of those questions was “yes.”

Before I left, I was riddle with anxiety and guilt about the endeavor. With life being what it was over these last few chaotic years, it’s been a minute since I’ve set off on a long and far flung adventure on my own. But, even when my palms were sweating and I was plagued by doubt, the bandaid that I put on carried the same message each time ~ “Just go. You can aways stop or go home if you need to.”

[Narrator] She didn’t need to.
