The view from my morning commute – me, as a pillion:
It must be freezing in hell today! 😉
In a bid to save fuel, Kenny was kind enough to give me a lift to the office since he was riding to work anyway. Bike-pooling! It was the first time I’ve gone in to the office for over a week. Thankfully I have the luxury of leniency in the workplace.
I am a terrible passenger but I feel like I did pretty good back there. I managed to only bonk his helmet twice with my open visor, so you could say I’ve made progress. 🙂
Here on Long Island people are frustrated by the gas situation but… things aren’t normal. Hurricane Sandy kicked our asses. Even so it seems that many don’t feel that they should have to sacrifice a little comfort and maybe not drive to the mall today.
There is some craziness going on here. Lines at the pump have been hours long when a station with gasoline is found. With tempers flaring people are pulling knives, fights are breaking out when someone tries to jump the line. It’s ridiculous.
People are hoarding fuel when they find a station that is pumping. And yet I saw many drivers doing 80mph down the Expressway in their SUVs this morning. I don’t want to be inconvenienced! Boo- f’n-hoo. Calm down and conserve a little.[/rant]
But, even as I type this – things are getting better as far as fuel availability goes. Just in time for the nor-easter on it’s way tomorrow. ::sigh::
Hope things are good in your part of the world.
