Saturday Morning Dances with… Turkeys?

Taking the long way to pick up my mail at the post office seemed like the perfect way to get in a quick head-cleanser. It was also an opportunity to take advantage of what would be the coolest part of the day. Lately it’s been so stinkin’ hot and humid that it makes riding… not quite as fun.

Skirting all of the trafficked roadways, I rode a giant ring around the edge of “civilization.” That’s where all the good stuff is. The nothing much helps me to un-think all the clutter that I stuff inside my head.

As I slowly coasted towards a roundabout I didn’t have any other traffic to contend with other than these crazy birds.

There were about 10 of them struttin’ across the road. I cut the engine and coasted to the side of the road hoping I’d be able to snap a picture of them before they all disappeared back in to the woods. The caboose on the turkey train seemed curious about me too.

That was kind of a neat and unexpected way to start my Saturday.
