While visiting Rumford Maine during Presidents week, we stopped off to eat red snapper hot dogs and visit with the town’s Paul Bunyan Muffler Man.
Valentine’s Day here in the northeast was an absolutely stunning day to be out and about. Our travels brought us to Connecticut, where we spent the afternoon and evening monkeying around. While we were in the neighborhood we stopped in to see the Cheshire Bunyan Muffler Man.
Kenny and I used to ride by this curious buggy now and again. Sadly the mystery mobile is no longer parked at the bar near the old Kings Park Pyschiatric building. I snapped these back in 2004 and just happened to find them on my photo drive tonight. I thought they were too good not to share~

As I was riding along near Salisbury, Vermont I rather unexpectedly passed this giant gorilla holding a Volkswagon Beetle.
On the way up to Vermont this weekend, we stopped off to visit the Tin Man of Goshen, Massachusetts and to check out the Three Sisters Garden right next door.

Anyone that has ever seen the Sopranos opening credits will recognize this Bunyan style Muffler Man who stands underneath the Pulaski Skyway in Jersey City, NJ.
Sure New Jersey smells a little funny sometimes but don’t let that stop you from exploring it’s Americana riches. Behold the kick-ass awesomeness that is Nitro Girl.
Boy Scout Bunyan Interestingly enough, this Bunyan Muffler Man has stood just a stones throw from my hometown for years though I’ve never had the chance to see him.

Can you imagine just how boring this world would be if it weren’t for the kooks? Thank sweet baby Jebus for those offbeat weirdos who build junk towers, drive furry cars, decorate the lawns of their million dollar properties with dinosaurs.
