Liz Jansen - Women, Motorcycles and the Road to EmpowermentShortly after the new year I was contacted by Liz Jansen, author of Women, Motorcycles and the Road to Empowerment with a request to include my post about taking my mom for a ride in the Ural sidecar on Christmas day on her blog.

I was of course tickled pink and accepted her offer right away.

Thank you for including our little story in your Feel Good Friday blog, Liz! I think my mom feels like a rockstar 😉

You can catch Liz at many speaking engagements and motorcycle events around the US and Canada.

Have you ever had the opportunity to read Liz’s book or hear her speak?

The Retro Roadmap Meetup in Quakertown, Pa.

The Retro Roadmap Meetup in Quakertown, Pa.

On Saturday Kenny and I hopped on the bikes and headed to Quakertown, Pa. for an ice cream social at the 100 year old Sine’s 5 & 10. The gathering was hosted by Mod Betty of Retro Roadmap.

What is Retro Roadmap? Mod Betty says,

I created Retro Roadmap, and  The Retro RoadMAPS to make it easy to visit these vintage places, whether they’re down the street or across the country!

Along with meeting Mod Betty we met Gunnar from Eccentric Roadside, whose puntastic blog is a roadside must-read. And… I finally got to meet my long-time blog buddy, Wendyvee of Roadside Wonders!

We spent the afternoon bellied up to the soda fountain counter having ice cream, burgers and great conversation. I generally feel shy, weird and awkward about meet-ups but I am so glad that I went. Everyone was so friendly and well, kind of awesome 🙂

Each of these bloggers has provided me with places to visit on my motorcycle and lots of laughs through their posts. These are people who follow their whims and flights of fancy and you know..? The world needs more of that.

If you haven’t already, please do visit them:

Be sure and tell ’em Large Marge Fuzzy sent ya!

Blog Challenge: 5 Pretty Awesome Posts You Might’ve Missed

One of the biggest challenges for bloggers is how to highlight older content. Just by the nature of the basic blog format sometimes what we see as our own great posts don’t get enough action. How can we tell people that there is something pretty awesome they might’ve missed? Well, the best ways that I’ve found so far is…

shamelessly pull stories out of the archive and link to them.

Okay, bloggers. Are you ready for the challenge?

Post a list of 5 Pretty Awesome Posts Your Readers Might’ve Missed

Head back to your own blogs and find 5 blog posts that you really loved writing and tell your readers about them. Maybe we missed them the first time around, maybe we’re new readers, maybe you just loved the post so much that you just want to hi-five it again. Whatever!

Blow the dust off of some of those oldies but goodies and re-share ’em with us.
