Pal’s Sudden Service, or more commonly just Pal’s is a fast food chain in northeastern Tennessee and a little smidge of Virginia in what’s called the Tri-Cities area.

What initially drew me to Pal’s is probably pretty obvious. Just look at the facade of their buildings! Incredible. A giant hotdog, burger and fries, plus a tasty beverage. What’s not to love?

When I was snapping this photo the kid at the drive thru was freaked out that I was “taking pictures of their customers.” That caught me a little off guard. Surely I can’t be the first and only person they’ve seen taking photos of their hotdog-festooned building. Weird.

A few years ago, I stopped at a Pal’s in Kingsport which featured counter service and a muffler man on the roof! I just may have to stop by to see how he’s doing when the weather warms up.
