The Only Person You Should Try To Be Better Than

I have a predilection for feel-good sayings on signs when I see them. They’ve got just the right amount of corny positivity for me. More than that I suspect it’s some weird mental tick that makes me think that I’m supposed to see their message. Signs, fortune cookies, unlikely coincidences… the universe is talking to me! The universe. Talking to me. Riiiiiiight.

Anyway, I really like this message I saw in Pennsylvania: The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday. There are probably a few others but I’m not going to quibble over the finer points and ruin the sentiment.

And I also find it pretty funny to imagine a swarm of termites eating the entire church save for the steeple in 30 seconds flat 🙂

Where is the church, anyway? LOL. I’m a sucker for corny signs, too.

I actually don’t know! I will try to backtrack to see if i can find it. We stopped in that town for gas so I might be able to figure it out.

Did you take the photo with your smart phone? If so you can create a Garmin Adventure on their site and it will help identify the location.

Also, there probably is an app to access the meta data in the photo that should have the coordinates if the photo was taken with your smart phone

Yes, the first place I looked was on my phone. The camera roll saves location info in the collection. but I only have the Instagram location. It’s way off because I loaded that when we were driving. I don’t have the original non-Instagram pic

I actually meant where as in all I see is a steeple-looking thing! Is there more to the building? Or is it just a really skinny steeple church? I sort of like the idea you mentioned, a searm of termites consuming it almost instantaneously.

I must’ve been focused on the sign. I dont remember anything about the church itself, just the steeple sitting there. It’s like the building took its hat off 🙂

That sign needs a spot on Facebook. So many people on there trying to impress others. Love the new look of the blog too!
