BBBC Day 2: Consulting the Oracle About Travel Plans

When I walked down the hallway this morning, I saw the Magic 8-ball sitting in its rightful place among the other important things – a clay narwhal, a ceramic shoe house, a bevy of Unicornos – and I thought, “well, that is probably the perfect everyday item for my day 2 BBBC post. But I have to ask it a question.”

And without any forethought I asked:

“Will I take a big trip on my motorcycle this year?”

Scouts honor, that was my result on the first and only shake: Outlook Good

Shaking the ole 8-ball probably has just about as much influence on making something happen as anything outside of your own noggin. If nothing else it could be the seed that germinates into something you want to do anyway. When all is said and done, you can conveniently package it up and say, “well, the 8-ball said I would!” Maaaaaagic.

Sometimes it seems like it would be easier to believe that there are magical forces at work in your life versus knowing that everything you become is of your own doing. I should clarify that. When it’s something you aren’t so happy about, blaming things on magic seems more appealing. But if you’ve worked your ass off for something? Well, then it’s fun to take the credit 😉

Perhaps I’d better get crackin’ on the tarot cards to see where I’ll be heading!

That’s perfect. Both your choice of an item and it’s outcome. 🙂

I was wondering how you’d tie it into your moto theme.

Do have someone get a pic of you reading those cards, okay? I have a very old Ouija board in my basement, but am too scared to touch it!

If the 8-ball came up with anything *other* than a positive answer I’d be shocked! I love your road trip stories!

  3. Well, I do believe in “magical force” sometimes, however, do prepare carefully before heading out and you’ll have a good trip. Good luck!
