Thanks – It’s Not Me,… It’s You.

favorite_heartIt’s time for another thank you. Thanks for taking time out of your day to read this lil ole motorcycle blog. And a super high five to those awesome commenters who make me laugh, or think, or say what a douche each day. Mostly the first two things, though.

And as I’ve said many times before, the people who leave comments are often far more insightful, more funny-er, and more interesting than whatever I’ve managed to scribble down. Yous guys? Kick ass.

I do often follow the links that you leave on your comment profiles and read your blogs, too. But it would be great if you would share the link to your motorcycle blog below in a comment and tell us why you’re so dang awesome. Other readers here should probably be reading your blogs too. Or maybe they are and I’m just the last to know? Wouldn’t surprise me.

Anyway – unlurk and tell us where we can visit you on the web.

And… thanks <3

  1. Is it a slow news day and that’s why you’ve sent a thank you? Or did you play with a puppy today and you’ve gotten nostalgic for simple times??

I visit here often just to see the world through your eyes. The pictures, the places, the rides, you have an unique perspective. As a reader I should be thanking you.

Blogging is still a mystery to me despite having been tinkering at it for a long time. I watch stats, subscriber numbers, Google Analytics, and it still makes no sense to me why things happen as they do. But generally I just like to take in some of the riding life because I’m stuck in meetings and more meetings most of the time.

    As always, enjoy your blog.

Nope 🙂 I’ve got stacks of drafts in the hopper. I just really mean it.

I often say that I can’t believe people read my blog. It may be the same for you – but I simply started keeping a blog because i’m just one of those people who documents their life. If I were living in the pre-computer age, I’d probably be doing it on paper. The fact that anyone else reads it is always a pleasant surprise to me 🙂

The things i learn about people and riding and exploring and just.. life from the simple act of reading their comments or following the links to their blogs? It’s pretty amazing. There is no shortage of fascinating people out there in the world and it makes things so easy to discover them when they come knocking on your door.

The information shared across this web of motorcycle bloggers is quite an onion. You see one layer, peel it back only to be off on some other deeper tangent. The depth of inspiration is limitless.

I haven’t the slightest idea the “right” way to blog. Any time I get myself turned around to attempting to do it in any way other than on my own terms or what feels natural – the joy leaves. I’m not in it to be famous or a ‘blogging personality’ or to market myself as a brand. I just like motorcycles and writing stuff down.

and thank you, Steve – for reading, for commenting and for keeping your own excellent blog – which you didn’t share the link for in your comment 😉 I know we can mouseover next to your name and all – but let’s see it anyway.

Love reading your blog. You inspired me to write one of my own and aspire to ride more. I enjoy your stories and photos. It’s interesting to see what your area of the country looks like.

Keep it up! You keep writing and I’ll keep reading!

You are such a sweetie. Thanking us for reading. Aw.

I’m not sure I fit the dang awesome category, especially since I haven’t been nearly as much as I should. (Did you notice the past tense there?)

But since you asked so nicely, here’s my link.

I’ll be on two wheels again soon.

When commenting with my phone, whole paragraphs disappear. Luckily I remembered to hit copy before posting.

I’m a bit of a lurker. I always read but don’t comment very often (oops).

I assume millions must be like as surely my blog surely gets a gazillion readers but fewer comments 😉

I’m like you. I read everyone’s posts (through a reader: Feedly) but I am terrible at commenting.

Also~ I can’t post any comments on Blogger hosted blogs that use the embedded comment form, so that doesn’t help.

Fuzzy you’re wonderful! I love reading your blog. I particularly love when you find the large statuary and funky roadside stuff, oh how I wish we had that here on the Island. The inky thing I have found is the giant gnome by Parksville and the giant watering can in a local park. Cheers Fuzzy!

    Hey Fuzzy,

Yap. I’ve been a follower for a couple years now. I was initially drawn to your site because we ride the same bike albeit mine’s a 2007 Tiger. Then I became hooked on your writting style: the occasional wry sense of humor with enough detail to help me actually envision the topic/ride as though I were there. I especially enjoyed your Ride Report: The 2013 Void Rally. I eventually set up an RSS feed to your site so Feedly can ping me on my smartphone when you publish a new post. Great stuff with my morning coffee.

That got me inspired. So I created my own blog about six months ago and used your site as a foundation for my layout. Sorry no royalties but “Thanks” just the same! I use my blog to publish trip posts and not much else. So it can remain stagnent for a period of time. But it’s fun to document the adventure(s) just the same.

Anyway, I’m not much of a commenter so this is my first towards you… you asked for it!!

Thanks for the posts and keep ’em coming,

    lanza

Thank you for sharing your life with us. Your blog is giving me the strength and courage with my own blog. Like Dar said, I too love the funky roadside attraction. I’m hoping on my trip next year to come across as many I can find.

Whew! I haven’t been able to read your blog in several days — and it seems you went on a blogging-jag while it was hidden from me. A dozen posts in three days!

Two interesting things. First, it’s cool that blogs even exist. Until recently, people like us wrote journals and diaries but nobody else read them. Now we get to share our experiences and perceptions with others, all around the world. How fun. Second, it’s surprising how many lurkers are out there. Every few months, I get an e-mail from a reader who knows all about me — and I didn’t even know they existed. Hmm…

You’ve got one of the best blogs in the business. Which isn’t a surprise ’cause you’re one of the best people on the planet. 🙂
