Moto Photo: Moments Like These Never Last

For the past few weeks, I’ve kind of lost my footing. I’ve been riding and taking tons of pictures but not doing a lot of posting on the blog.

Have you missed me? 🙂

Moments Like These Never Last

It could be that I’ve succumbed to the instant gratification of noncommittal chit-chat places like Twitter and Tumblr. It could be that I’ve lost my voice or maybe I’m in a state of flux.

Or, it could simply be that I just needed a rest. I make my living staring into the pixels of a computer screen for 8 hours a day. Sometimes it’s the last thing in the world I want to do when I am home.

Whatever the case, as the graffiti I passed on Sunday so poignantly says, “Moments like these never last.”

The Glass: Half Empty or Half Full?

That’s some pretty deep scribbling, when you stop to think about it. Is your current fleeting moment something you’re just trying to endure or get through or… something you wish you could hold on to forever?

Have definitely missed your posts Fuzzy, but completely understand why you have been “missing”. Having said that, the tumblr pics and the Twittter msgs have all been great.

I often wish I could ditch my accounting career and just ride my bike and write my blog, but know that I can’t survive and pay the bills doing that.

Anyway, I guess the point I’m trying to make is that when your blog posts return, I’ll look forward to reading them, I also love your tumblr and twitter feeds too……your writing and your iPhone photography is real….and real is good. Have a great week!

    All the best, Anthony

      🙂 Thanks, Anthony

I guess so many of us share the same dream – to ride off into the sunset on our bikes and just live. As people, we were not made to sit in an office watching the day go by from the wrong side of a window. :::le sigh:::

Tumblr and Twitter are fun. They’re like mindless breaks from the “big stuff”. I think that’s what I like about them both. They’re short term brain candy. You don’t have to get in too deep.

Thanks for sticking ’round, Ant 🙂

You sound just like me a couple months ago. 🙂

Yes, I missed you. Glad you are back. It’s perfectly okay to take breaks once in a while. Like you told me, your readers who really care will completely understand.

Absolutely missed but assumed you were harvesting more awesomeness.

It’s hard work to post serious, substantial content like you do. So it is not unusual — and it’s totally understandable — to need some time off now and then. We re-charge our batteries with real-life activities (e.g., riding), especially at times of the year like now. Twitter, et al. are fun, easy diversions so we can continue doing them while resting.

As a reader, I miss your posts but, as your friend, I’m cheering your time off because I know it’s good for you.

Love the photo. I like the bright, saturated colors and the look down the road ahead. I spend my day in front of a computer as well. Some times you just need to get away from those pixels.

I used to read National Geographic when I was a kid and one photograph has stuck with me all these years. It was a classic African scene, a colorful, overloaded combi bus making its way along some remote, grassy two track. On the front of the bus, someone had very carefully painted “No Condition is Permanent.” I can see that image clear as day in all its Kodachrome 64 glory and that sentiment has struck me over and over again. I guess good or bad, up or down, it’s worth noting that things will likely change.

You’ve got a really great blog and obviously it has mattered to you all these years. I’m sure you’ll find its voice again.

I’ve thought about the image you described a few times over the weekend. Though never having seen the photo, the way that i imagine it in my own mind now has something so incredibly hopeful and romantic about it. I almost dont ever want to go looking for the real photo.

Those words will stick with me.

      Thank you <3

Of course we’ve missed you! But, I totally understand. I too work on computers all day, so when the weekend comes, I stay the hell away from them! This has helped with my sanity, or whatever. Stay gold.

The Glass: Half Empty or Half Full? Neither. It’s the wrong sized glass :o)

Must admit that I don’t post as often these days. So much to do and so little time.
