Sights from the Road: World’s Tallest Uncle Sam – Happy July 4th

Many people who have attended Americade or have passed through Lake George, NY will recognize the world’s tallest Uncle Sam. He stands outside of the Magic Forest amusement park just south of town. We last saw him when we attended motorcycle ice racing on a cold February day. I thought he was perfect to post for today, July 4, 2010.

Sign Reads:
“Here stands Uncle Sam. The world’s tallest Uncle Sam was bought from the Danbury Fair in 1981. Erected here at Magic Forest in 1982. He stands 38 feet tall, weighs 4,500 lbs. and is made of fiberglass. repainted with the Acme base coat clear coat system in 1992.”
