Sidi Vertigo Rain Boots: Baby Needed a New Pair of Shoes

Though I cannot stand the thought of throwing them away for some irrational reason, my old Sidis have been placed in exile on a shelf in the dark corners of our garage. Kenny bought me a new pair of Sidi Vertigo Rain boots for Christmas.

When you consider the years on the old Vertebras, they really held up well through the elements. I have no problem recommending the brand to anyone. And while I’ve been hemming and hawing over what to get to replace my shabby old kicks, I’m glad that Kenny took the leap on my behalf. What gets me most about buying new motorcycle boots is shelling out the money. I absolutely believe they are worth paying for but I guess there is just a mental hurdle to get passed when it comes time to pay over $300 for footwear, especially when the old boots are doing just fine! Well, except that the velcro on one does stick anymore, the soles are walked off and they aren’t waterproof. No, strike that. They aren’t even water resistant. I think they see clouds and then excitedly invite rain over for tea inside of my boots.

Equipped with an entirely different closure system and a rain gusset, I’m hoping these babies keep that dreaded first trickle of water that pools down my instep at bay.

Of course you know what this means, don’t you? New waterproof boots for me means you’ll see clear skies all year. You can thank me later. 🙂
