Bristol, Vermont: Visiting The Lord’s Prayer Rock

Though it may be difficult to read in the photo I’ve posted, this is the Lord’s Prayer (the unabridged version) chiseled into a rock.

I guess my trip to Vermont over the weekend was rather filled with serendipitous events. I’ve passed this rock on many occasions from the other direction so I’ve never noticed it before.  Maybe you only see things when you’re ready.

    When my mother wanted to entice me to accompany her to her great grand parents farmhouse on Quaker Street in Lincoln when I was a young child, she would tell me about this rock. I never really knew the story behind it until I read about it online.
