What’s Goin’ On

fuzzygalore ural big duckCan you believe that Christmas is already a few days past? All that build up and it slips away like a thief in the the night. A thief that brings presents. Apparently I’m not good with similes.

The weather has been really weird here on the Isle of Long. Lots of rain but not terribly cold and I haven’t been riding my motorcycle. On the sunny days over the last week I’ve been running, dancing in a bunny suit and riding my fatbike. But I’ve been thinking about riding my motorcycle, so that’s something.

I did actually roll the Enfield out of the garage with the intention of riding it. But as I think I may have mentioned previously, the battery is shot. For whatever reason I’m complete shit at kickstarting anything. It must be that I go in halfhearted. I’m convinced that I’m going to loop the bike over and somehow end up underneath it. That would be a pretty incredible feat that defies physics and all but, when I’m determined to do something I usually make it happen. I only wish I could use that same determination to actually kickstart the bike. So, after a few lame, limp kicks, I wheeled the Enfield back in to the garage and ate some cookies.

Hope you had an excellent week, friends!

Vir over at Helmet Stories went on a Triumphant Adventure. You know, cruisin’ around in the Himalayas looking for snow on a Triumph Bonneville and his mate on a Speed Triple. You should check that out. It will send your wanderlust in to overdrive and maybe change your way of thinking on the whole “adventure bike” business:

What’s Goin’ On

Friday was my last day of work until the New Year. As you might imagine, I’m a happy camper. I’ve been drinking beer, running, riding my motorcycle and sleeping until 7:30 (not all at the same time). I’m a lady of leisure!

Tomorrow I might actually go to a store to buy a Christmas present. Unless I wake up in the morning and come to my senses. But how often does that ever happen?

Much better than going to some stupid store (I’m not a shopper) tomorrow the days will start getting longer again. Today marked the winter solstice. We’re up and over the hump. You’ll get like 4 minutes of extra daylight tomorrow. Make sure you use it wisely.

It’s about time to start planning those road trips you’re going to take in 2015. Do you have your sights on any place in particular?

Hope you had an excellent weekend, friends!

What’s Goin’ On

We’re in he home stretch for Christmas, can you believe it? Things around here are pretty low key on the holiday front, though. Thankfully we’re blessed in not needing anything so that takes the pressure off of any holiday shopping. Our Christmas tree is up and the house is smelling deliciously piney.

Are you hoping Santa will be bringing you something special this year?

This weekend I connected with a kindred spirit, Rosie. She took a leap of faith and sent in her address to receive a postcard when I was traveling this fall and we struck up a friendship over the last couple months. Meeting her in person was just awesome – another sister from the road. You know how it is when you feel like you could just talk to someone for hours? Yeah, that’s Rosie for me. I’m so glad we met 🙂

If this silly blog does nothing else, it opens up a pathway for me to meet beautiful souls out there in the world. Thank you for caring enough to read these posts.

This weekend was the bike show here in NYC. During the coming week I’ll probably be posting some stuff about that. And, our annual Santa ride took flight today. Some more posts will be filtering in on that as well.

Hope you had an excellent weekend, friends!

Cock & Bull Lounge? I’m sorry, I’m a child but you just KNOW people call it the cock and balls lounge.  😆 Oh, right. And there’s a big ole bull on the sign, too. 😀

I know it’s kinda one of those lame inspirational quote deals, but I like this one. It reminds me of one of the things I really appreciate about riding motorcycles. You meet ALL kinds of people.
