MEMORY LANE: Wyoming
F r i d a y ,   D e c e m b e r   2 8 ,   2 0 0 7

Call me a sentimental fool. I was poking around looking for something on my computer earlier and I got off on a tangent browsing through photo folders. You know how that is right? I came across a folder of pictures from Wyoming, most of which I never posted. There are a bajillion in there. Now that i'm getting nostalic, maybe i'll get around to it.

I found this one from outside of Cody, Wyoming as we were heading towards the Cheif Joseph Highway. The night before we saw on the news that the Beartooth Pass was closed due to mudslides, so we were taking the Cheif Joseph to Yellowstone instead. It proved to be an increadibly memorable ride through snow and ice. One i will never forget.

Looking at this picture now is like looking at another person. I know that is me there, but yet it is like some far off place that I think I've imagined. Maybe its time for another big trip, you think?

Cycle World NY Bike Show - 2007
F r i d a y ,   D e c e m b e r   2 8 ,   2 0 0 7

We went in for the opening day of the Cycle World bikeshow in NYC today. The family was all off from work and school so we figured sneaking in on Friday at opening time would allow our daughter to enjoy the show without being sandwiched between all the patrons at face to butt level. Its tough being 6 in a big crowd. It proved to be a good call. We were able to get up close to see everything we wanted to look at.

That being said, I don't know if its me or what but it was a bit of a snoozefest. There wasn't anything really wow! exciting there.  I think back a decade ago and the bikeshow was something I looked forward to, was excited by. Now i think I just go out of tradition. Maybe now with information so readily available at every turn on the web, you've seen everything a million times over by the time you walk through the show doors. I dunno. For me the most interesting bikes were some of the customs and the vintage displays.

I found this to be interesting: DAM Motorcycles

I saw this yesterday while we were walking around the East Village.

Whew! Good thing he's got a lock on it, eh?

I think about stuff other than motorcycles and sometimes I feel like talking about it. I'll be sticking it in the non-moto section. For the curious, that's here:

One of my friends sent me an email entitled "Can't make a bike more ugly" which of course means, I'd probably love it. It is no secret that I'm a lover of the ugly ducklings of this world. So I cracked open the link and sure enough... Wow, I love the looks of the thing!
