International Motorcycle Show

I was hoping to live blog my way around the show, but my phone battery had other plans. So, here is my “not so live” blog of the 2012 IMS in New York.

This is the Husqvarna TE250 that I do not want:

The TRON bike at the Evolve electric motorcycle display.

Why can’t they get smart & beautiful people who are truly knowledgeable about their products instead of.. “um, uh… 100mph maybe?.. um, it’s not, um, in production.. um…” models to stand around talking about bikes?

Kenny’s eyes lit up when he saw the RC8. But, I think the fact that I heard him say “Oww,” when he swung a leg over it means that maybe this glass of Kool-aid isn’t for him. Stick to their dirtbikes, babe!

Triumph came out with guns blazing. The new Explorer 1200 and the Limited Edition Steve McQueen Bonneville were the hot steamin’ deal.

The new WeeStrom? It’s… ok. As my dear friend and 2011 westrom owner Bill said: “They took a 5 and made it a 7.” And he’s so right. Probably still an all around great bike but stylistically speaking – the cosmetic updates were nothing earth shattering.

The Ducati “fashion show” that danced and wriggled its way around the new Panigale was quite a sight. Also… I need to stop eating. Forever.
