It’s time to unbolt the giant creeky door and blow some of the cobwebs away. Freshly dusted off for your viewing pleasure are 5 popular fuzzygalore.com posts from the archives. Some of these are quite old. If you’re a long time reader this may be a trip down memory lane. If you’re one of the new kids – maybe you’ll discover something fun from when IĀ used to blog on a stone tablet.

Lost and Found Retro Fuzzygalore: Do we make our own luck?

I found this gem on a picture CD that was buried deep in our spare bedroom closet. I believe it was taken in 1999 outside of the North Castle Diner in Westchester, New York. I have no idea who actually took the photo.

Even though it is me, I barely recognize the person standing there. I know the motorcycle better than I know the girl. The motorcycle hasn’t changed at all. This was the time in my riding life when I was still invincible. I sometimes miss that girl; miss those Sunday rides with the guys. But really what I think I miss most is the blissful ignorance.

I’ve got a few years distance now to look back on those days. On many occasions I have asked myself if it was me that kept me safe, some higher power or if it was just pure luck. Though I will never know for sure, I am grateful.

So what do you think? Do you believe in luck?

Memory Lane: Riding through Sequoia National Park

Sequoia National Park in June of 2008 was the first time that I’d ever laid eyes on what it really means to see a big tree. They’re so huge that it’s quite difficult to capture them in pictures because you can’t actually get the whole tree into the frame and then on top of that you don’t have much to compare to size-wise if you do.

Memory Lane: California’s Point Arena Lighthouse

In some ways you don’t really know the value of your travels until they are left behind in the clouds of dust that swirl around in your memory. My trip to California in June of 2008 is like that in many ways. While I was in the thick of it putting in the miles, taking in the life, I was absolutely enjoying it. But now, as time has marched on what I’ve come away with is a collection of delicate and precious vignettes that fill me with sunshine. It isn’t the big stuff that seems the sweetest to me. It is the small moments that come back to me tenderly. I can still feel the moment that I saw the pelicans glide along the water near Point Arena lighthouse. I still feel the cool of the cement as we shared a sandwich on the curb in Mendocino.

One Sweet Ride

Since I haven’t been doing much riding as of late, I have been avoiding updating my blog. I always have stuff to talk about but I feeeeeeeel like I should try to keep my posts to things I see when I’m out on the bike or motorcycling in general, even if its in the loosest sense. This baby is sporting some motorcycle saddlebags so it qualifies. What did you say? Holes? In my logic? LOOK OVER THERE, A YETI!

I found this one if the Fuzzmopomatic Wayback Machine from February 2004.

Niiiiiiiiiice!
