Waking a Tiger From a Long Winter’s Nap

::cough:: blows dust away::

Hello, everybody 🙂

This weekend the universe threw me a lifeline and reeled me back from plumbing its dark outer recesses. If you were thinking I might have finally cracked up? You weren’t far off. But I’m happy to report that I am making my triumphant return to the land of warm and fuzzies.

On Easter Sunday, while my family still slumbered, I wheeled my Black Betty bicycle out and pedaled to the bagel store. It felt so good to be out in the sunshine, in the wind. For the first time in a long time, I got the feeling. You know… THAT feeling. It was time.

Time.
To Ride.
My MOTORCYCLE.

Waking the Tiger up from its long winter’s nap consisted of little more than unplugging the battery tender and giving the tires a squirt of air. The familiar whirrrrr of it’s 3 cylinders was music to my ears.

Though I was only out for about 2 hours – it was such a relief. This winter was challenging on many levels. Being on a motorcycle again helped me to put some of the negative feelings I’ve been harboring to bed. I was able to feel that clarity, that in the now-ness that I only seem to achieve when I’m riding. Whew!

The captain has turned off the seat belt sign. Feel free to move about the country!

Fuzzy, my dear… It has been too long. I hope that others will forgive me for speaking in the “we”, but–damn–you had us worried.

Welcome back to the land of the living! 😀 I am thrilled that your weekend ride-abouts succeeded in re-priming your sense of adventure.

Two-wheeling season is here! The time is now!

      Thank you, Ry.

Even though I wasn’t really gone for long, it is interesting to know that some people can sense that I’m feeling “off” just by what goes on via my social media accounts or on the blog.

I’m so glad to be feeling better. Now, about that adventure…

Welcome back. I’m one of the “we” Ryan mentioned. You’ve been missed.

Yay!! I’m looking forward to reading about your adventures.
I couldn’t agree more with how riding brings you into the “now”. A good ride always makes me feel so grateful for how fortunate I am and snaps me out of my pity party. Riding = 🙂

Fuzzy – we easterners get that feeling every winter, I often wonder what it would be like to ride year round, Easter was the first time I could get out on my bike too! It was exhilarating! It had been far to long and of course I was nervous and my stomach was jittery, but that first twist of the throttle and letting out the clutch and hitting that pavement, my goodness nothing ever felt so right! It was like I never stopped riding for 5 months. Here’s to another year of adventures! We did 100 miles and I loved everyone of them.

Welcome back Commander Galore! You have been missed and I’m looking forward to new ride reports and blog posts! Isn’t a glorious feeling to be back with what I refer to as “two wheel therapy”! I, myself, got out on Monday and did 120 miles. It felt like I was out riding forever dusting out the cobwebs and the dark corners of my mind. The sense of freedom. Ahhh! I have officially put a curse on winter to keep it away from New England. I welcome riding season with open arms and I’m ready to roll. See you on the road Fuzzy!

Nothing does it quite like a Tiger.
