2013 Crotona Midnight Run – CANCELLED

2013 Crotona Midnight Run CancelledI got an email from Dick at Ramapo MC. Tonight’s Crotona Midnight Run event has been cancelled.

Weather conditions along the course are calling for a mix of snow, rain and cold temperatures making things dangerous both for the riders and the Ramapo club members who man the course along the way.

I hope that Dick isn’t too hard on himself. I know canceling was a tough decision. Better to be safe than sorry.

Always best to be safe. No one wants to hear of a friend going down in bad conditions.

Any word on rescheduling or is it simply cancelled for this year?

Ahh, that sucks … I know you look forward to it.

Yea, I do – but whaddayagonnado? gotta roll with the punches.

I feel bad for their club – they put a lot of time and effort into setting up the ride. Cancelling it was a tough decision, I’m sure.

So sorry you didn’t get to ride, but look at it this way….you were warm!!! Our CA (Candy Ass) ride went on like clockwork this year but we have had years they had to cancel. They always have the next week as the cancellation date. Ready for winter to be over. We are actually having a blizzard warning for Oklahoma today. Strange, very strange. We rode yesterday…was 60 degrees, and today a blizzard. Only in Oklahoma, we always say. 🙂

Sucks it was cancelled but riding in that weather is sketchy already. Safety has to come first in an event like that. There is always next year!
