Introduce Yourself: Tell Me… About You

For the past few days, one post on this here blog has just caught fire. It was: Here It Is! The Greatest Road Sign In The World. I wish I knew the formula that makes that happen. Whatever it is that sparked peoples imagination – I’m grateful.

My dear friend Pimmie happened to see the photo posted on a Dutch motorcycle site:

Hello & Thank You!

So, on the heels of all of these new folks coming around I just wanted to say Welcome and Thanks for Reading!

And to those of you who’ve been around for a while now – you’re like my favorite unicorn wool sweater… just awesome.

So… You Come Here Often?

Why don’t you take a minute and say Hi? How about telling me where you’re from and maybe what bike you’re riding? How about telling me where your blog is or your astrological sign? You know – that getting to know you chit-chat.

If you’ve been a silent lurker who didn’t know how to jump in – now’s your chance to say something. You’ll get extra style points for making me laugh.

Thanks, Everybody.
You guys and dolls are the greatest readers a little pink motorcycle blog could ever hope for.

  1. Well, hello! I’ve been following you for a while now. I forget how I discovered your blog, but your blog is what I want MY blog to be like when it grows up! 🙂

I’m a 44-year-old Mom to three grown children and Mama to three rotten dogs. My husband and I each converted to a BMW F650GS earlier this year (January). Then we decided to move from Maryland to Virginia. Because that required so much more time than either of us anticipated, our new bikes STILL have less than 2,000 miles on them. How embarrassing…

Before the BMWs we each rode big, fat cruisers. He had a Vulcan Nomad 1500 and I had a V-Star 1300. We both liked those bikes just fine until we got to spend a week on rented BMWs carving through the Alps. It was love at first ride for me.

I have a motorcycle-related blog (http://appalachiantours.blogspot.com) and a personal blog (http://www.toadmama.com). The former was sorely neglected this year due to the aforementioned move. But the latter has intermittent moments of cool. The latest post even has SEX pictures. That’s nowhere near as cool as a big-ass metal Bigfoot, but I try. If you decide to stop by, be sure to say Hi!

I feel the same way – i’ve been reading your blogs for so long now – i can’t remember how it came to my attention. They are just like a part of the fabric of my morning blog-reading routine.

Now that you’re even closer to some great riding, I’m looking forward to reading about your riding adventures. Hurry up and get out there, will ya!

Great idea for a post! I am new here. Just found you on twitter a week or two ago. So far, really enjoying your posts and tweets.

    A bit about me:

I live in Moab, Utah with my wife, son and 2 all-terrain pug dogs. I ride a Tiger 800 XC, I’m a photographer, I prefer dark chocolate, and I’m a sock-shoe-sock-shoe kinda guy. I blog, tweet, facebook and all that stuff but I prefer to be outside hiking, canyoneering, riding (either mountain bike or El Tigre), camping or road tripping with my family.

I’m Anthony, and I’m a 38 year old father of three amazing little boys. I’m an accountant and guitarist and live in the beach-side town of Yamba, NSW, Australia.

I ride a 2005 Suzuki V-Strom, and have been a two-wheeled fanatic since 2006, starting on scooters and eventually moving up to a “real bike” last year. I love anything with an engine and wheels that goes fast and am passionate about bikes!

I have a blog – Two Wheeler (http://anthonyparker1.wordpress.com), which I’ve created to share my bike related adventures.

Writing about riding is great, but the best thing is always the riding itself.

      Hiya, Anthony –
Thanks for responding. I read your blog all the time 🙂

“Writing about riding is great, but the best thing is always the riding itself.” Here, hear!

I have been following your blog for a couple of years and on Twitter for some time. I probably found your blog through a link from bolty.net but I really don’t remember for sure.

I ride an old ’83 BMW R100RT during our short riding season here in the interior of Alaska but haven’t ventured out of Alaska on the bike. I’ve been up here almost 30 years after getting tired of CA and heat. I’ve only been riding for four years (I think) and have been blogging about riding, repairs, walking, travel, etc. on http://blog.machida.us/ since 2007 and for a couple of years before that on a now discontinued service. Married, mostly grown kids (physically at least) and still at the same university where I originally came up as a grad student.

    • Fuzzygalore says:

      Hey, Richard ~
Thanks for sharing your blog with everyone – and – thank you for responding and of course reading 🙂

It seems like Alaska has become the “easily attainable” adventure for motorcyclists these days. I must admit I am no different. I hope to see it from the saddle of a bike one day. It just seems like such a beautiful (and unforgiving) place.

There is a small problem with this post and the comments under it – it’s given me even more blogs to follow and read!

But anyway – Hello from New Zealand! I’m a Concours 14 (for covering long distances in a short amount of time) and V-Strom (for the dirty stuff) pilot and have been banging away at my blog (http://banditrider.blogspot.com/) for nearly six years.

Totally addicted to bikes and love to share my adventures via the blog. I follow quite a few US blogs because look out, I’m coming over at some stage to wrack up some miles on the wrong side of the road!

If anyone is thinking of coming over to ride NZ then let me know if I can help any way…

    Over and out!

    • Fuzzygalore says:

      Hey, Andrew! Thanks for replying.
I know what you mean. My Google Reader is chock full-o-blogs. But even so, my hope is that we get a chance to “meet” some other bloggers who reply.

    Como Tu Ta Senora Fuzzerino?

Everyday at work when I just need a break I come here for my lighthearted, joyful, I wish I was riding and not sitting at a desk, motorcycle feeling. It cheers me up for 5 mins and it’s awesome. Also to generally stalk your life on the interwebs. Naaa I’m joking I do that in reel life. Naaaa I’m just joking!!! Is it weird I want to sit in your garage, try on your leathers and take your collection of motorcycles for a spin pretending to be you?

I started a blog, though it became just a journal that I was publishing to everyone on the web. Never found my blogging stride or hudspa. So it’s just been sitting without any action, lonely, in the rain on a sever somewhere. So sad.

We’ll see if I can get it going again soon. Though your blog is so nice I think I’ll just read yours and pretend that it’s mine in my head just like your motorcycles.

    Best, Daniel.

    • Fuzzygalore says:

      You’re so silly, Dan 🙂
(Was that you in our yard last night, BTW?)

I totally understand about the journal feel. That’s pretty much how it works for me too. The moment it feels like work, i lose my way. It has to just come out naturally. I hope you find your groove again (if thats really what you want to do)

I openly say that even after all these years I am often surprised to find so many people reading. I am always thankful for it. People like you who take the time to say they liked something, offer their point of view or share their experience on a post comment really mean a lot to me. You guys are the best.

    Hi! Ben “GL”

I don’t know when I started reading but i’m pretty sure the infamous Soth got me started on your blog. It started off slowly and then I delved into a lot of your previous adventures and before I knew it the clock said 5oclock and I had to drive home from work. Your blog is the only one i’m currently following on a regular basis but with all these other blogs being posted i’ll have to check in.

Reading your stuff is a ton of fun and seeing all the pics and writings about it is great. You have even inspired me to stop and take a pic when riding now and then. I have learned that the next corner will still be there and I should stop and umm smell the roses? No wait that’s just my old leather jacket I think…..or my offroad armor isn’t it? Yeah that’s what it is, remember if i’m camping for a couple days a 5 foot buffer zone is not a bad idea 😀

One day I might start a blog but give me about 2 more months to get school over with! I can’t even find time to ride a suspects ride report right now i’m so busy. I like what you said previously too it shouldn’t feel like work ever. You never want to make your favorite hobby a chore. Anyways until then i’ll keep reading here, posting up and catch a ride sometime soon!

    Hi Rachel,

I am new/old to motorcycling. I have ridden pillion on the hubs bike for 28 years. I needed an economical way to commute to work so I took up scootering and fell in love with 2 wheel commuting. I put 5000 kilometers on my wee 50 cc scoot in only 10 months. I love riding it everywhere. I recently took a 16 hour novice course and 14 hour traffic course and did my motorcycle road test on October 18th and passed! I ride a vintage bike a 1984 Honda 450CM E and it rocks my world! I do however have an evil master plan as I want my hubs Honda V45 Magna 750. I told him to go buy an new bike – what man wouldn’t want to hear that?! He is still loving his bike, maybe it will be mine one day soon. I live on Vancouver Island and love it there. My newest passion/addiction is motorcycling. My teenager loves to tell her friends I ride a motorcycle, apparently I am now the cool mom at her school!

I have a blog which I started when I started scootering just to have fun and connect with other riders. It has grown into part of my Moto journey. I love your blog!

I’ve been reading your blog for a while now…I’m always happy to hear about other women riding motorcycles. I live on the Monterey Bay in California. I teach MSF every weekend and it makes me happy to see the increase in female riders in my classes over the past 7 years. I ride a big BMW GS even though I’m short. It is my only mode of transportation by choice. I love it for comfort and in the twisties…we have great roads out here as you know from your recent visit.

I don’t have a blog but I read what a lot of other people write. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Motorcycles and riding provide most of my favorite diversions!

Just found your blog, and it’s a refreshing insight into why we all ride.
I’ve been riding for 35 years here in England, have ridden a lot in France, Italy and Spain, been lucky enough to do 3 bike trips to the US and keep looking for new destinations.
My current ride is a Moto Guzzi Breva 1200, which is something different and you don’t see another one very often!
I don’t blog, but do a bit of FBing, but post my photos here http://www.flickr.com/photos/2005rkc/

Keep up the great reads!! Neil

    • Fuzzygalore says:

Thank you for taking the time to say ‘hello’, Neil. Glad to have you here.

The world is an endlessly fascinating place to keep riding and enjoying. I’m heading over to look through your pics now!
