2011 Crotona Midnight Run: A Few Hours Until Go Time!

In just a few short hours, it will be go time. The 93rd Crotona Midnight Run.

As of 6:30pm here on Long Island, the winds outside are howling. The temperatures are holding steady at around 30° but the wind… oof. My ride to the starting line in Yonkers is about an hour on the highway. I’ll have a good feel for what I’m in for by the time I roll into the parking lot.

I Get By With a Little Help From My Friends

I’m happy to report that in addition to Soth, I will have 4 friends leaving Long Island to do the ride as well. Hopefully such good company will help me stay awake at the layover. I wasn’t able to sleep in at all today and a nap wasn’t to be. I’ll just have to be the little engine that could. I think I can, I think I can…

Check-in starts at 10:30pm with the first bike leaving the gate at the stroke of midnight. I’m hoping for a good time and most of all safe travels for everyone.

A huge ‘Thank You’ to Ramapo MC for braving the elements out there at the checkpoints and hosting this great winter ride!

Good Luck To All!

I just got home from a 90-minute ride from Brooklyn. The wind is fierce and the temp dropped into the 20’s. It’s uncomfortable out there. Be careful, Fuzzy. Safety is more important than pride.
