Sights from the Road: UFO Car

Kenny and I used to ride by this curious buggy now and again. Sadly the mystery mobile is no longer parked at the bar near the old Kings Park Pyschiatric building. I snapped these back in 2004 and just happened to find them on my photo drive tonight. I thought they were too good not to share~

What a curious little thing. It’s like a hovercraft VW Bug, with moss growing on it.

Somehow, it would seem less legitimate if it was missing the moss and stains on it. Very art deco. I’d drive it making OOOooowEEeeeEEooOOoOoO sounds. 🙂

I kept trying to come up with a snarky comment about bars and psychiatry but I kept getting distracted by the the thought that this thing was a prop from the movie “Sleeper”
Is the Orgasmatron on LI too?

Shamwow! Only moments ago I was perusing the 50 Worst Cars list over on Time magazine (you know- the authority on automotive matters). Whilst there I discovered the Fuller Dymaxion, a product of the fertile mind of R. Buckminster Fuller.

Imagine my surprise when I saw this strikingly similar critter. I’m agog!

Coincidence? Or proof of alien visitors?

Wow, what a great series of shots. Australia is seemingly devoid of crazy art cars and promotional vehicles. We have a 1972 Superbug which is slowly being reclaimed by the atmosphere, perhaps we should build our own UFO car!
