Is that a banana in your pocket…?

With my first moto trip of the year on the horizon, when I get some free moments away from the daily goings-on of my real life, I read motorcycle forums, bike mags, look at maps and chit-chat with my friends about bikes with a renewed vigor that only the first upcoming trip of the season can bring.

Today, I was taking a look at the Aerostich website at some fancy-schmancy waterproof leather jacket a friend is contemplating. Aerostich always has some great stuff in their catalog – lots of things you didn’t know you really needed until you saw them splashed across their pages next to people wearing bug-spattered, yellow hi-viz suits. Today was no exception. As I clicked through their pages looking at waterproof bags, tools and gear I came across something dementedly perfect.

Behold… The Banana Guard.

Even as I read the title and looked at the little thumbnail image, I must confess I had no idea what it was. I thought it must be some cute or clever name that really had nothing to do with its actual purpose. Read on, brothers and sisters. It is divine.

Motorcyclists are a weird and wonderful bunch. Can i get an Amen?
